How do teachers file KRA returns in Kenya?
A teacher is under the ’employed category’ in the country. Their source of income is certain. Therefore, for a teacher in Kenya to file their returns, they will require a P9 form to complete the whole process. Ranging from primary to secondary school teachers, all the teachers are required to file their tax returns before the deadline comes i.e 30th June every year.
The KRA pin number is given to you during the registration of your KRA certificate. After registration, check your email account for your KRA pin as well as your ITax login password. The P9 forms were re-acquired from the employer i.e. The Kenya Tsc. This form has been made available for download for all employees on the TSC portal by the Teachers Service Commission. Failure to file your tax returns before the deadline will drag you to 5%- 20% of the tax payable for that year.
