KUCCPS Application for TVET courses: Requirements and Deadline 2023

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service is the body responsible for the placement of students into all institutions of higher learning, with government sponsorship. This includes students applying for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The KUCCPS provides information on the application for TVET courses, requirements, and deadlines. 

One can study the following courses under the TVET program. 

  1. Craft Certificate Courses 
  2. Artisan Certificate Courses 
  3. Diploma courses. 

These courses are offered in technical and vocational training institutions as well as various polytechnics across the country. Here is a small guide on KUCCPS Application for TVET courses, requirements, and Deadline.

There are over 278 approved TVET courses to choose from.

These are just but a few of the marketable TVET courses. Here is the procedure on how to apply for TVET courses using the KUCCPS student portal. The requirements and deadlines for TVET application for the year 2020/2021 are as follows; 

KUCCPS Application for TVET courses REQUIREMENTS 

KUCCPS has set requirements for the application of TVET courses. Here are the requirements for TVET placement. 

  1. For diploma courses, a minimum grade of C-. 
  2. Craft artisan courses require a minimum of grade D 
  3. Artisan-certified courses require a minimum grade of D- 

Follow these steps to apply for TVET 

  1. Open your browser and log in to the KUCCPS student portal here. 
  2. Insert your credentials as prompted. Fill in your KCSE year, index number, and passwords accordingly. Your birth certificate number or KCPE index number is your password. 
  3. Applicants are then to select four courses in order of their preference, with the most preferred course being first, and the least preferred being the fourth. 
  4. Qualification is the factor that determines the chances of being placed in the desired course. 

Application for TVET courses is open from Monday, 17th February, and revision. The deadline is on Monday, 9th March, at 5:00 p.m. 

The government will automatically subsidize fees for all students in polytechnics, and technical and vocational training centers who were placed by the KUCCPS.
