A man from Kawangware, Dagoretti sub-county, was earlier brought into court for threatening to rape and kill her mother. James Waweru , the suspect, was said to have borrowed her mother, Waitheka Mary ksh.10 to purchase Sukuma Wiki.
Her mother refused to give him and asked him for the keys to their main house. Waweru immediately got angered and started harassing and insulting her mother. He then reached for a panga and started chasing her mother round their compound.
Neighbours come to the rescue
It was for the brave neighbours that Mary Waitheka survived. They managed to capture Waweru and took him to the police station. The police interrogated Waweru and came up with a report that he was under the Influence of drug abuse. He then appeared on court earlier and was charged by Principal Magistrate Mwaniki for causing disturbance. Although Waweru denied all the charges against him and was later released on a Ksh.5000 cash bail.
