For those that did not see the superb Champions League match between Manchester United and Villarreal, well it was a night to remember. Despite Manchester United lacking some of their important players, this includes Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire, and Aaron wan Bissaka, they still managed to come back and win the game 2-1. The first half of the match was a little bit quiet, although Villarreal was the better team as Manchester United was more on the receiving end.

Early in the second half, Villarreal was rewarded with a goal due to the efforts as Danjuma teed up Alcacer to put them ahead. It was not long before Manchester United got a freekick at the edge of the box. The freekick responsibilities were given to Bruno Fernandes, who with great vision crossed the ball for Alex Telles, who waited for the ball patiently before smashing a cracking volley to the right bottom corner. A sublime finish that brought Manchester United level with Villarreal. The game remained very competitive with both teams trying to snatch the win.

The game looked to end in a draw, but with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, a chance is all that is needed. In the stoppage time, Villarreal goalkeeper punched the ball after a shot was tried, before Lingard, who entered as a substitute bounced onto the ball only to tee up Cristiano Ronaldo, that made the difference as he smashed the ball to the goal only to leave the keeper helpless as he punched the ball straight in the goal. Ronaldo’s the time winner for Manchester United means that Manchester United has three points in the group and now can focus on the next premier league game and bring back their form. Lingard has proven good over time and many fans deem him and Ronaldo to be a perfect combination. Only time will tell.
