For any football fan , the statement the Gunners next season is not new to the ears because it had been in force throughout the years during the Wenger tenure. However the ‘next season’ has remained a pipe dream as Arsenal has maintained not pleasing performances in the present past. Arsenal is renowned for its achievement throughout history legends like Thiery Henry who have worn the badge for the English club. Arsenal boasts of having names in the PL hall of fame Thiery Henry ,RVP(Robin Van Persie) who made his record of bagging two consecutive hat tricks , Wilshere, Ian Wright among others. Notably Arsenal is also known to have gone a whole season unbeaten with the squad being tagged the invincibles. This is the squad Arsenal fans miss.
Arsenal’s main problem is it’s players .Arsenal players aren’t unified in that some of them aren’t displaying passion for the club, and no objective to see the club fight for the trophies .A good example is the captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang; the guy started off the season with a good scoring record and also won the premier league golden boot. Arsenal bought him from Borussia Dortmund but recently after extending his earning to a salary of £300000 per week he flopped .A good team should go into a game with a perfect set mentality. The end goal is to fight and win not to end up with a good salary . Also, Arsenal will rue selling their playmaker Mesut Ozil.He was a talented mid controller with an exemplary vision and exquisite passing range.
Ozil received constant castigation for his laziness in defending and oppressing opponents ; they failed to see that he was a veteran on the ball turning into a machine to be reckoned with. Since then, Arsenal have failed to get a replacement that can fit in his shoes and play the number 10 like they had dreamed of. In a bid to replace the German, players like Ceballos were deployed an effort which did not deliver the desired results. Thirdly, the Gunners are inconsistent in form and sometimes display a poor defensive system as well as attacking front . They have been in books for conceding most number of goals among the big six of England.
Going into a new season, the Gunners seek to dive into the transfer market to bolster their attacking front , midfield area and backline. .Latest arsenal transfers news updates says that they have been keeping tabs on benfica left back Nuno Taveres which is a good option. Arteta should come up with style of football that his players will be able to fit in properly and turn into tittle contenders from mere premier league participants.
They need a midfielder like me who has a vision similar to KDB’s and who is there to make things happen.
